Bone Health & Osteoarthritis
Strong bones, stronger life - at any age
Your bones aren't fixed scaffolding. They're living, dynamic tissue that rebuilds itself constantly - in fact, you grow a whole new skeleton roughly every ten years. That means it's never too late to make them stronger.
Whether you've been diagnosed with osteoporosis, want to protect yourself before fractures become a risk, or are managing the daily reality of osteoarthritis, the right programme can change your trajectory. We've seen it.
Our director has lived it - diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2020, she designed her own science-based programme and five years later increased her spinal bone density by more than 20%, moving out of the osteoporotic range entirely.
You can do this too. We'll show you how.
BONE HEALTH & OSTEOPOROSIS
Why bones matter more than you think
Bones do more than hold you up. They protect your organs, store the calcium and phosphorus your body needs to function, and respond to everything you do. The catch: osteoporosis is a silent disease. Often the first sign is a broken bone - understanding your own bones and what you can do can help to prevent this.
Everyone should have a DEXA scan by age 65, or earlier if you have a female body or risk factors. Knowing where you stand is the first step to taking charge.
How We Help You Build Stronger Bones
Assessment & Screening
We review your DEXA results, medical history, lifestyle and movement patterns to understand what your bones actually need.
Targeted Strength Training
Bones respond to load. Muscles pulling on bone is the signal that triggers them to rebuild stronger. Walking is wonderful for your heart - but it's not enough on its own. We design clincally-supported progressive resistance programmes that give your skeleton the stimulus it needs.
Osteogenic Loading
Higher-impact work like jumping and weight-bearing exercise rates highest for bone-building. We progress you safely from where you are now to what your bones respond to best.
Nutritional Guidance
Adequate protein, calcium and minerals are the raw materials. We point you toward food-first strategies that make every mouthful count.
Specialist Collaboration
When medication, hormonal factors or complex bone-health concerns are part of the picture, we work alongside endocrinologists to make sure your exercise programme complements your medical care. We can refer you to a trusted specialist if you don't already have one.
Education & Confidence
You'll understand what's happening in your body and exactly why each part of your programme matters.
OSTEOARTHRITIS
Move better, hurt less, stay active.
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and one of the leading causes of pain and disability in adults over 50. The old advice was to rest sore joints. We now know the opposite is true - appropriate movement is one of the most effective treatments available, with evidence on par with or better than many medications for pain and function.
Stiffness, pain after activity, joints that feel "creaky" in the morning - these don't have to define how you live.
How We Help You Manage Osteoarthritis
Joint-Specific Assessment
We identify which structures are driving your symptoms and what's limiting your movement, so the plan addresses the real cause - not just the ache.
Strength Training around Affected Joints
Strong muscles share the load and protect the joint. This is the single most evidence-based intervention for hip and knee OA.
Flexibility & Mobility work
Restoring range of motion reduces stiffness and makes everyday tasks easier - getting out of a chair, climbing stairs, gardening, playing sport without paying for it the next day.
Pain Management Strategies
Hands-on therapy, activity pacing and load management to settle flare-ups and keep you progressing.
Orthopaedic Collaboration
If conservative care isn't enough - or you're weighing up joint replacement surgery - we work closely with orthopaedic specialists. We can refer you when surgical opinion is warranted, and we provide pre-habilitation and post-surgical rehabilitation to help you recover faster and get the best long-term result.
Long-Term Self-Management
You leave knowing how to manage your condition independently - not dependent on us forever.
